On 27-29 July, the 14th China International Symposium on Metal Recycling Applications and the 7th Second General Meeting of the China Iron and Steel Scrap Application Association were successfully held at the Century Golden Resources Hotel in Kunming. More than 400 people from upstream and downstream of the whole chain discussed and exchanged views on the market trend of scrap iron and steel and non-ferrous metal scrap, processing, recycling and distribution industry chain, product quality, technological progress, standardisation and construction, and promoted the green and low-carbon development of the industry.

In the report, Feng He-lin, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of China Scrap Iron and Steel Application Association, briefly introduced the situation of China's scrap iron and steel resources utilization from January 2021 to June 2022, and analyzed the hot issues of the industry, such as the No. 40 document on fiscal tax, the cornerstone plan on resource security, and the creation of a demonstration zone for electric furnace short process steelmaking. He also discussed the Association's ongoing and upcoming research on "National Scrap and Steel Resources", "Treatment and Utilization of Metallurgical Slag (Steel Tailings) in China", industry access and policy dissemination, continuing to promote the "integrated" development of the scrap and steel industry, and the development of group scrap.
